Since April, due to the restrictions imposed to stem the spread of Covid19, many communities linked to the “ Sustainable and Solidarity Tourism ” project in Northwest Argentina have found themselves in great difficulty as they cannot market the agricultural products of their lands, because the fairs and markets where they were usually sold could not be held. This situation risked leaving dozens of families from Yariguarenda without economic support and ruining the products of their work . Thus, the project operators proposed that they orient their activities towards home deliveries , accompanying them in the reorganization of communication, logistics and distribution techniques. The initiative that involved friends and volunteers in the distribution went very well and gave other people from the Tartagal area the opportunity to learn about the project and become interested in Rural Tourism. Natalia is one of the protagonists of this change and wrote to us that: “ The producers thank us. They were really in trouble, but we managed to build an alternative road and some have even sold three times more than they sold at the Tartagal fair alone. We are happy to have helped them not to stop their activities and that, therefore, they can continue to live off their work even in this period”. Accompanying communities on the path to development in this period marked by the Coronavirus also means remodeling projects and finding new ways to respond to the emergency.
