In this time of emergency we have chosen to remain close to the participants and operators of our projects, who are working every day to respond to the Covid19 emergency.
In Mexico, for example, we have postponed the entry of guests of the Rifugio della Speranza for the post-addiction social reintegration project “Liberarsé” , but the local team has continued to maintain contact with the shelters where young people live to offer support and assistance. Furthermore, precisely to address the urgent needs dictated by the Corona Virus , the solidarity initiative “Io offro – Io ho bisogno” was born, involving families, young people, children from the surrounding neighborhoods to collect and distribute donations and offerings of food. At the moment the offers they are receiving are greater than the requests for help, but these will certainly grow with the passage of time and the increase in difficulties created by the measures adopted to prevent Covid 19. To date, the experiences we receive are encouraging: in one day they have collected more than a thousand euros for the needs of a parish and in a week they have collected the necessary for 100 food parcels to be delivered to a group of elderly ladies. The network is also working to find masks and antibacterial gel for those in need. Thanks to your contributions, AMU will be able to stay close to the most vulnerable people and communities in the current moment of crisis and in the recovery process.
