We from AMU were also there in Torbole, on Lake Garda, to meet more than sixty people and to talk about our idea of cooperation on the occasion of “Let’s Share” , the fundraising event promoted by the Nodari family, owners of the Hotel Baia.
Azzurra . A festive moment—a lunch accompanied by music that has long marked the close of the summer season—created to share the fruits of the year’s labor and circulate resources for development projects.
While in previous years the funds were donated to various initiatives, this year the family decided to donate all proceeds to our Sunrise+ project in Ecuador.
This decision was also informed by the firsthand experience of Simone Nodari, the hotel’s director, who accompanied us to Ecuador last year to see firsthand the reality and impact of the project supported in the province of Esmeraldas.
The Economy of Communion: sharing and reciprocity
The day was kicked off by Emanuela Nodari , Simone’s sister, who, at the opening of the lunch, emphasized how this event exemplifies their approach to economics. Referring to the principles of the Economy of Communion, which parents in particular are staunch supporters of, Emanuela emphasized how business management finds its deepest meaning in sharing and reciprocity.
Our Rosanna Foderà – from the Institutional Fundraising office – then illustrated the activities of the Sunrise+ project, sharing a series of reflections on the work done so far in Ecuador.
Being there was important to us: sharing our work directly is an added value and helps strengthen our ties with the companies that choose to support our projects. It’s a valuable opportunity to meet new people and raise awareness among potential supporters.
Rosanna sums up her participation as follows: “I wanted to emphasize the unique features that distinguish us: the importance of supporting communities without replacing them, so that they can overcome difficulties on their own, and the principle of reciprocity required of all beneficiaries, understood as a commitment to giving back to the community the good they are receiving. Both of these aspects aroused deep interest and widespread approval among those present.
A bond that bears fruit for the future
The meeting also sparked important seeds for the future: we forged bonds that could lead to new collaborations.
In the margins of this article, we’d like to thank the entire staff of the Hotel Baia Azzurra. And we do so with Rosanna’s words: “Feeling united in a valuable initiative has strengthened the team’s cohesion and understanding, bringing great satisfaction to everyone. When the economy opens itself to reciprocity and collaboration, growth becomes a shared path capable of generating lasting results.”
