In Cuba, the project to accompany and support entrepreneurs who want to open businesses inspired by the principles of the Economy of Communion continued even during the pandemic. Between the end of May and the beginning of June , support reached several families, arriving precisely at a crucial moment of the emergency in which some had already begun to sell their goods, including those necessary for work. Despite the conditions that have put everyone to the test, families and entrepreneurs have been protagonists of important gestures of reciprocity and solidarity. There are those who, for example, travel 50 km every day with their motorized bicycle to reach the sea, fish and then distribute what they have caught for free to families in need. Others have decided to give everything they can to help the community in this difficult moment. There are those who travel several kilometers every day, on foot, to reach the river and fish for “Claria” and other types of fish that they then distribute to families in their community who do not have the resources to buy food. Even in such a difficult time, the protagonists do not lose sight of the importance of reciprocity, convinced that giving and receiving are opportunities that do not present themselves separately! And the stories that come from Cuba confirm that what is donated can be multiplied again (in time, material goods or immaterial aid) to support other people in a state of vulnerability.
