Fazenda da Esperança in the Philippines welcomes approximately 23 boys and girls from families experiencing serious economic and social difficulties.
In December 2019 , a typhoon damaged the reception facilities and AMU committed to supporting the Fazenda to repair the roofs and insulate the premises. It was not easy to buy the materials and get them to the island of Masbate, because many companies stopped during the lockdown. Today, despite the restrictions imposed by the measures against Covid19, the work is almost finished (pictured is the reconstruction work during the lockdown) and soon the facility will be able to host the children again and resume the agriculture, craft, baking and livestock activities that are necessary for their sustenance. The typhoon and Covid19 put the survival of the farm to the test, but the commitment of AMU and the local community allowed us to continue the research and enhancement of the potential of the hosted children.
