New technologies sometimes divide, but they can facilitate full and widespread communication if used without abuse or excess. Photography, according to some, has stolen the soul, television has been called a “bad teacher” and about the Internet and social networks, without bothering the heavy judgments of Umberto Eco, a bit of everything has been said. Technology has always divided the public between catastrophists and enthusiasts, leaving in the middle those who try to make the best use of new tools, enjoying the possibilities offered, but paying attention to the related risks. AMU also tries to use the updates offered by technology, even more when it comes to those related to communication, which allow us to bring the protagonists (supporters, volunteers, donors, beneficiaries, operators, …) of our projects closer. This is why, in recent months we have started the regeneration of some tools making them more user-friendly, more welcoming, easier and more pleasant to use (we hope!). AMU Notizie has a new shape and a new graphic that we believe can give more space both to the information and written stories, and to the beautiful and exciting photos that portray the protagonists and the places where our actions take place. The site and the newsletter have had a graphic redesign that, in addition to the aesthetic aspect, proposes a renewed organization of the contents, now more concise, easier to read, use and share. On the website, which we are gradually implementing in 5 languages, you can find information on AMU and our work, our budget data and all the publications necessary to offer maximum transparency; the projects, divided by thematic area, with all the related contents and the area of education for global citizenship, with the activities, the different methodologies and the indications for actively participating. At this point, all that remains is to hope that you like the changes and that they can succeed in being an increasingly open, rich and efficient channel to better publicize our commitment and the protagonists of our projects. For any suggestions related to the website, the newsletter or AMU Notizie you can write to comunicazione@amu-it.eu . PS If you know another language well, in addition to Italian, and you want to help us with the translation of the texts of the site, write to us and join our group of translators, to whom we renew our thanks for the precious work done so far.
