TURISMO VIA DI SVILUPPO

The testimony of a craftsman at the end of a business trip in the North West of Argentina, on a visit to our project “Sustainable and Inclusive Tourism”. The project is realized with the contribution of the Economy of Communion.

We are in a beautiful room of the archdiocese of Salta, in Argentina, in late August. There are Francesco Tortorella of AMU, members of Alfarcito Foundation and of Suma Fraternidad, representatives of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and that of Productive Activities, some universities and other public and private institutions. All involved, in various ways, in the development project of rural tourism which is taking place in 5 communities of North West Argentina.

La testimonianza di un artigiano a conclusione di un viaggio di lavoro nel Nord Ovest dell’Argentina, in visita al nostro progetto “Turismo sostenibile e solidale”. Il progetto è realizzato con il contributo dell’Economia di Comunione.

Siamo in una bella sala dell’arcidiocesi di Salta, in Argentina, verso la fine di agosto. Sono presenti Francesco Tortorella dell’AMU, membri della Fondazione Alfarcito, di Sumà Fraternidad, rappresentanti del Ministero della Cultura e del Turismo e di quello delle Attività Produttive, di alcune università e di altre istituzioni pubbliche e private. Tutti coinvolti, in vario modo, nel progetto di sviluppo del turismo rurale che si sta realizzando in 5 comunità del Nord Ovest argentino.

«This is a tourism that deepens the soul, one that culminates in the encounter of people, said Bishop Hugo Salaberry, President of the Commission for Migration and Tourism of the Episcopal Conference of Argentina. Our people lovingly show who they are and what they have. We are brothers.»

Io vivo nella Quebrada del Toro. Il progetto del turismo mi ha dato grandi soddisfazioni perché ho iniziato a fabbricare oggetti da vendere ai turisti, e a vivere del mio mestiere: è una gran cosa per me poter soddisfare le mie necessità con il mio lavoro. Vivo di quello che produco e grazie a Dio le mie opere sono arrivate in varie parti del mondo. La mia mente e le mie mani sono servite a qualcosa in questo passaggio nel mondo! Per noi artigiani e per quanti vivono nel “cerro” questa è una via di sviluppo…».

«È un turismo superiore quello che culmina nell’incontro di persone, afferma Mons Hugo Salaberry, presidente della Commissione per le Migrazioni e il Turismo della Conferenza Episcopale Argentina. La nostra gente mostra amabilmente ciò che è e ciò che possiede. Noi siamo fratelli.»

Durante l’incontro, i partecipanti hanno proposto riflessioni molto interessanti che pubblicheremo prossimamente.
