Cécile is part of the community microcredit group “Tuzamurane” which has 30 members and has been active in Burundi (in Bururi) for two years.
Thanks to the group Cécile has been able to set up her first business in Burundi, one of the poorest countries in the world, and the business is now growing. “I will never know how to express my gratitude. Thanks to community microcredit, I have access to the credit I need to carry out the activities that allow me to earn money. I started by producing and selling banana wine. Little by little, with the savings and credits I have obtained, I have been able to expand my business by introducing the sale of beer. Now, thanks also to my work and what I earn, the family no longer needs to worry about food or clothes and the children have everything they need. The microcredit group has been a real strength and a boost for me and my family”.
The community microcredit group, through training and accompaniment provided by the “It can be done!” project and the relationships established between the various members, has enabled Cécile to be the real protagonist of her own change!
