Fare Sistema oltre l’Accoglienza: la storia di Abdoulaye

The first phase of the project Making System beyond Hospitality, which was focused on vocational training, was completed. A new period of work placement and accompaniment has now started for the young adults. Some of them are already at a good point, such as Abdoulaye, of whom we will tell the story here.

Originally from Ivory Coast, Abdoulaye left his country when he was still underage. He was welcomed in Italy by the municipality of Vittoria, a small town in the province of Ragusa, in the heart of Eastern Sicily: a territory that has experienced emigration and thus the value of hospitality.

Here the young man has found a place to call home and a community he feels that he belongs to. Today, after two years, he is over 18 years of age, he has learnt Italian, studied, obtained a middle school license, and found the job he has always wanted. Abdoulaye is, in fact, among the young people involved in the Making System beyond Hospitality project, which promotes training and job placement courses in a way of meeting and collaboration between the different subjects of the territory.

All his life he wanted to be a baker, and when the owner of the Tinghino bakery in Vittoria (Ragusa) agreed to host him and train him in his bakery, he did not hesitate for a moment. Throughout the internship he was always keen and professional, helping even when he was not specifically asked for. “An exceptional guy”, his colleagues inside the bakery describe him so. Passion, expertise and commitment have enabled him to gain the trust and esteem of his employer who has then decided to hire him. Finally Abdoulaye can look to the future with hope and dream of a normal life, as he himself expresses: “I cannot stop thanking Italy for the hospitality and from the bottom of my heart I want tell my migrant brothers, who are like me, to look for a job and respect the rules of this country, Italy”.

For other young people, we are looking for job-placement opportunities all over the country. We rely on increasing the network of available companies to offer opportunities for professional learning and inclusion, thanks moreover to the important partnership with the Economy of Communion and AIPEC.

Si è conclusa la prima fase del progetto Fare Sistema oltre l’Accoglienza, destinata alla formazione professionale, ed è iniziato per i ragazzi un periodo di inserimento e accompagnamento lavorativo. Alcuni di loro sono già ben avviati, come Abdoulaye, di cui raccontiamo qui la storia.

Originario della Costa d’Avorio, Abdoulaye lascia il suo paese ancora minorenne. Ad accoglierlo in Italia è il comune di Vittoria, un piccolo paese nella provincia di Ragusa, nel cuore della Sicilia Orientale: territorio che ha conosciuto l’emigrazione e il valore dell’ospitalità.

Qui il giovane ha trovato un luogo da chiamare casa e una comunità cui sente di appartenere. Oggi, a distanza di due anni, ha superato la maggiore età, ha imparato l’italiano, ha studiato, ha ottenuto la licenza di scuola media e ha trovato il lavoro che da sempre desiderava. Abdoulaye è, infatti, tra i giovani inseriti nel progetto Fare Sistema oltre l’Accoglienza che promuove percorsi di formazione e inserimento lavorativo in un’ottica d’incontro e collaborazione tra i diversi soggetti del territorio.

Sin da piccolo ha voluto fare il panettiere e, quando il titolare del panificio Tinghino a Vittoria (Ragusa) ha accettato di ospitarlo e formarlo nel suo laboratorio, non ha esitato un attimo. Durante tutto il periodo di tirocinio si è dimostrato sempre volonteroso e professionale, prestando il suo aiuto anche quando non gli era espressamente richiesto. “Un ragazzo eccezionale” così lo descrivono i suoi colleghi all’interno del panificio. Passione, competenza e impegno gli hanno permesso di conquistare la fiducia e la stima del suo datore di lavoro che ha deciso di assumerlo. Finalmente Abdoulaye può guardare al futuro con speranza e sognare una vita normale, come lui stesso esprime: “Non posso smettere di ringraziare l’Italia per l’accoglienza e con il cuore dire ai miei fratelli migranti, che sono come me, di cercare un lavoro e rispettare le regole del paese che è l’Italia”.

Per altri ragazzi si cercano possibilità di inserimento lavorativo in tutto il territorio nazionale, contando di arricchire sempre più la rete delle aziende disponibili a offrire a questi giovani opportunità di apprendimento professionale e inserimento, anche grazie all’importante partnership con Economia di Comunione e AIPEC.
