The schools, the Young Ambassadors of Peace, the countless initiatives dedicated to building Peace in the world: the Living Peace International network is in constant ferment because today more than ever there is a need for Peace. Our Carlos, founder of Living Peace International, is on a mission to embrace the many protagonists of LP and to continue – together with them – the construction of a united world. So, let’s go around the world with him and with some of the other LP initiatives in Italy and abroad that have taken place at the beginning of 2024.
India
St. Joseph of Nazareth School in Manampuzha (Kollam) is a real surprise: 350 students, all Young Ambassadors of Peace, are protagonists of a journey of peace building . It is a truly unique school! Also in India, Living Peace received the World Peace Prize 2024 and with this award many doors are opened in the Asian world. On this occasion the dice of interreligious peace were presented, which had a great impact on the public.
Haiti
Even in far away Haiti, the representative of LP presented the project as a path to peace for the young generations in a large meeting of the Focolare Movement.
Jordan
In Jordan, children were the protagonists of moments inspired by Peace through the power – enormous – of music. At the Rosary College School in Shmeisani, in the Amman district, the youngest students participated in musical meetings in the spirit of sharing and solidarity.
In this country, last month, the Ambassadors of Peace launched a special challenge: they created a completely original calendar that not only marks time, but celebrates the journey towards a world of peace.
Italy
In February, the online training course was launched for 90 young people from different Italian cities. The course also includes moments of exchange and group work. Each meeting ends with a commitment to be put into practice during the week.
Cape Verde
The photos coming from Cape Verde tell of the activities carried out in commemoration of the school day for non-violence and Peace . Simple gestures full of meaning that are creating a new culture of peace in young hearts. In addition, the first Peace dice was installed here!
Honduras
23 students of the II Baccalaureate in Humanities of the Siguatepeque Bilingual Institute, wrote the text and created the musical composition of two unpublished songs to give support to all those who are fighting against cancer. The event was held on February 4, World Cancer Day. Young people can be protagonists of change, bringing peace and hope to all those who suffer.
Lebanon
On the occasion of the school day of non-violence and Peace , some students experienced an exceptional moment of sharing by carrying out various activities organized to raise awareness on this topic. Thus, after watching a video of Gandhi’s life with the adult group and another on school violence with the younger ones, they participated in several workshops. While the younger group tried their hand at a game that encouraged them to join forces to win together, the older group experimented with a communication activity: they thought about the mocking and offensive words and phrases that are often used among themselves and reflected on how to replace them with more positive ways. At Time Out they all sang together.
