There are many activities carried out by the Ecological Clubs supported by the Sunrise+ project in Ecuador, in the canton of Muisne, in the province of Esmeraldas. This province is one of the regions with the highest poverty rate in the country and for this reason the AMU has decided to accompany young people in professional training and natural resources conservation courses. In this way, by promoting eco-sustainable job opportunities and entrepreneurship, it is also possible to counteract the ecological damage that is increasing the social vulnerability of these populations. 
The kids who are part of the Ecological Clubs have a great desire to get involved to improve the life of their communities and to build their future with concrete actions, starting with environmental protection. These are some of the initiatives of the last few weeks. Many are connected to the Genfest 2024 event: in these days, in fact, young people from all over the world organize initiatives of this kind to ideally join the festival that sees them as protagonists.
Ecological Club Environmental Protectors
The San Gregorio Environmental Protectors Ecological Club delivered food baskets and shared moments of brotherhood with people who find themselves in a vulnerable situation.
Ecological Club Environmental Alliance
The Environmental Alliance Ecological Club of the Bolivar parish helped an elderly person in difficulty : they cleaned his house, cooked for him and shared the moment of lunch. When they left the man’s home, the boys gave him a basket of food products. It was a precious act of solidarity and communion with others.
Youth Awareness Eco Club
The Ecological Youth Awareness Club of the Daule parish has built some ecological bamboo containers for the deposition of solid waste , which will be placed in some strategic points. Waste pollution is an environmental problem that is deeply felt by the Sunrise+ youth, aware that even with small actions we can transform the world, because change begins with us.
Ecological Club Guardians of the Sea
The Portete Guardians of the Sea Ecological Club has been busy cleaning the beach , collecting all kinds of waste abandoned on the seashore. The waste that ends up in the sea kills marine life and alters the marine life cycle: a great damage is suffered, for example, by the reproduction of sea turtles that live on the island of Portete.
