Syria, in the EHIS center in Aleppo, Judy has found a second home

Judy has been working for three years at the EHIS center in Aleppo, which was created to assist deaf-mute boys and girls with their studies.

This year the class is made up of 10 students, all deaf and, to support Judy with sign language, a girl who graduated just last year works. For Judy, the EHIS center in Aleppo, which is part of the Syria Emergency Program – Seeds of Hope, has become her second home , where she spends many hours, even working after hours. She now considers it an essential part of her life and her work has become a response to the love she received upon her arrival . Over the years she has learned that the EHIS center in Aleppo is also a home that welcomes everyone : it receives every child, regardless of their affiliation, appearance or social status, because in every child there is the presence of God. And because, according to the rules of the center, no child can be excluded from learning and love. The daily work of Judy and the other operators at the EHIS center in Aleppo is an example of the reciprocity that we want to build in every AMU support project. Through human relationships that arise spontaneously there is no distinction between the protagonists: everyone finds themselves receiving and being able to give to others based on their own abilities and availability . Those who offer assistance receive in return an affection that fills their life. “I have discovered a new Judy, talented and loved by God, so I will continue to work with the same spirit, because these children need a great deal of support, and whatever I do for them never seems enough to compensate for the love they give me”
