Brunello Cucinelli's company sent clothes and shoes to the Piccoli Sogni after-school program in SyriaOn the Syrian coast, about 50 km from Latakia, the Piccoli Sogni after-school educational center is truly a small oasis of peace and joy for the children who attend it. These are children who have not had an easy life up until now; they come from displaced and extremely poor families. Syria today is marked by a decade-long conflict that has caused immense suffering to the population and the situation is still fragile and complex at the same time. The Piccoli Sogni center welcomes dozens of children from 6 to 12 years old and is supported by the Semi di Speranza project. In addition to providing remedial school courses, recreational activities, peace education and a daily snack, it distributes clothes and shoes, which are more necessary than ever during the winter, which here can be very harsh.

A precious gift from the fashion company Brunello Cucinelli

The center was recently able to distribute a new shipment of clothes and shoes to its little guests, thanks to the generous gift of the Italian brand Brunello Cucinelli . Through the Brunello Cucinelli for Humanity project, 20 children from the Piccoli Sogni center received 20 excess items of clothing (including trousers and winter jackets) resulting from the temporary closure due to the pandemic . When this clothing arrived, their joy was palpable, as the director of the after-school program Ghina explains: “We are grateful to those who thought of and donated these beautiful gifts. The clothes were distributed to the children who welcomed the gift with great joy.” The gratitude is not limited to the children, but also extends to their families.Brunello Cucinelli's company sent clothes and shoes to the Piccoli Sogni after-school program in Syria

“I thank you again on behalf of the families of the children who contacted us directly when they saw the clothes and who expressed great gratitude to all the “hands” who made these gifts arrive. One of the mothers also said that she will keep the pants that their son Zaid received so that she can also wear them for her other son Eid, because they are beautiful.” Director Ghina concludes.“I feel that every time we receive a gift of love from people far away, people we don’t even know, we also receive a dose of hope, optimism and confidence that as long as there is someone who responds to the cry of suffering humanity, the world will still be okay . And despite the differences and the great challenges, we have great confidence that we are not alone.”
