The Sunrise+ Project in Ecuador was a profoundly transformative experience for me, both professionally and personally. As a volunteer, I had the opportunity to witness the project’s growth from different perspectives and noticed significant changes in the Eco Club participants, in the community , and in myself.
The impact and growth of the Sunrise+ project in Muisne
The Sunrise+ project has achieved impressive growth over time. I have seen how the girls and boys of the Ecological Clubs have increased their enthusiasm and commitment, and the representatives of the Clubs themselves, mostly parents, have increased their participation and support. I’ve also noticed a positive change in the communities, where there’s less waste and the streets are cleaner. The project’s social media channels have also seen significant growth, with more positive reactions and followers.
Furthermore, I have seen how the project has succeeded in creating collaborations with other organizations and institutions, which has allowed for better work in the communities; technicians are also better equipped to offer support to the Clubs. All this has led more and more communities to want to create other Ecological Clubs and join the network of Clubs in the Canton of Muisne.
My personal growth through environmental volunteering
But the Sunrise+ project was a precious opportunity for me too. As a volunteer, I had the opportunity to grow personally and professionally, and I learned a lot: I discovered a part of myself I didn’t know existed, and I found new meaning in my life.
Sunrise+ taught me the importance of perseverance, dedication, and teamwork. I learned to adapt to different environments and situations and find my place in the project. I found a community of people who share my values and passions, and who welcomed me as one of their own.
I’m proud to be part of this project and contribute to its growth and success. I’m now one more environmentalist!
