Mohtadi is a ten-year-old boy. Unfortunately, he suffers from a congenital disorder that prevents him from moving his knees and ankles properly. As a result, he has difficulty maintaining his balance when walking. While playing with other children, he would often fall to the ground and be left behind: he no longer felt much desire to be with them .
Mohtadi’s mother turned to the physiotherapy center supported by Seeds of Hope, in the city of Homs, where the child lives with his family.
So, the young therapist Aida began to take care of this boy, having him perform a series of exercises to strengthen his leg muscles and improve his balance.
And with constant therapy, thanks also to the help of his mother, Mohtadi achieved notable improvement.
The physiotherapy center provided him with orthopedic shoes, which serve to correct his gait and prevent falls.
Back to playing!
The boy has regained his self-confidence and a desire to play with his peers in Homs. He’s even started helping his parents with some household chores. The progress he’s made won’t be lost, because Mohtadi has promised to continue consistently performing the daily exercises Aida taught him at home.
