Uruguay
Let’s start with an event of great importance. Living Peace was presented at the Uruguayan Parliament , in the presence of government authorities, the world of culture and education. There were also members of LP from all over the country: teachers, students and Young Ambassadors of Peace. One of the most emotional moments was when the boys from the Miguel de Cervantes Conservatory played for Peace.
Paraguay
The Young Ambassadors for Peace presented the Living Peace project and their activities on national TV . Communication is important to open new doors to Peace.
Venezuela
This is the testimony of one of the participants of the Run4Unity : “The Run4Unity for me has always been a unique experience, every year it is lived in a different way, but the final magic never changes: we always have in mind the unity and the respect of the other. I have always experienced this initiative closely. At first I was a simple participant, then I became one of the organizers and finally a presenter of the event. It has been a unique journey, which I would not change for anything. These are adventures and experiences that will stay with me forever!”
Syria
Despite the difficult historical period that Syria is experiencing, LP’s activities continue with constant commitment. Like the day spent with the children of Aleppo to play and reflect on the importance of ecology. Together, we took care of the plants that decorate their classrooms. It was a precious day to cultivate peace in the hearts of young Syrians.
In Homs , instead, the students of the Markaz Alamal Institute built an ecological Peace Dice by themselves to put it into practice and spread a greater environmental culture.
Democratic Republic of Congo
As many as 800 children from about 200 schools in the city of Lubumbashi spent a day together under the banner of the message taken from Pope Francis’ speech in Kinshasa: “From your hands may Peace come.” The children sang, danced, acted and told their experiences.
During the plogging week, children in each school planted trees. In Goma , to celebrate Run4Unity, students from the five Living Peace partner schools had fun participating in various sports activities: from soccer matches to sack races. Experimenting on the field the importance of being together and collaborating to achieve a goal.
Republic of Guinea-Bissau
Our Run4Unity involved many young people in plogging and planting trees and decorative plants. A beautiful experience that created unity among all participants.
Brazil
In the cathedral of Londrina (in the northern state of Paraná), during the mass for children, the Dice of Peace was thrown.
In Manaus , in a center that hosts children in vulnerable conditions, it was the latter who built their own Dice.
Official meeting, instead, with the administrator of the state of Guará, Artur Nogueira, to talk about Peace.
Belgium
During an interfaith meeting organized by La Chapelle de l’Europe on the theme “Living Peace”, the coordinator of Living Peace Belgium spoke.
It was a moment of prayer and conviviality between people of different faiths and religions.
The call for dialogue and peace by Grand Rabbi Albert Guigui of Brussels was the most intense moment of the evening.
Italy
The experience lived with the students of the Galileo Galilei high school in Catania , who were presented with the Living Peace International project, was beautiful. The Young Ambassadors of Peace animated the morning, testifying the desire to build Peace in the world.
In Rome, a large Dice of Peace was inaugurated. There are already more than a hundred of them all over the world, because we are all called to be protagonists of Peace, testifying to it with our lives.
