Egypt, Peace as a life change

Since becoming Ambassador of Peace, Fibi Nabil has applied in her daily life the values underlying the AMU project: solidarity, respect for differences, dialogue with others. A great change in the lives of people and of Egyptian society itself

Fibi Nabil is an Egyptian woman who joined I, Ambassador of Peace , the project with which AMU is committed to building a widespread culture of Peace in Egypt. This country in recent years has suffered the deterioration of some values that are fundamental for a society that wants to live under the banner of Peace, such as solidarity, respect for differences and dialogue with others.

Fibi approached the project almost by chance. She knew about it, but had never had the opportunity to get in touch with the other Ambassadors: “I was asked by a few other people to take part in Sports Day. I had an idea of what Ambassadors were and I had always wanted to be one myself, so when the opportunity arose, I was happy to join the project.”

She was immediately involved in the many activities: “We organized many sporting events in which bridges and friendships were built between different people. We talked, played and laughed all together. With ease and happiness”.

Now that Fibi is an Ambassador of Peace, her relationships with others and her view of the world around her have changed: “Through the daily relationship with new people from the I, Ambassador of Peace project, I have discovered new values and new interests.” These are values that Fibi now applies in her daily life and work. So that Egyptian society returns to being based on those principles that have historically characterized it: religious pluralism, respect for women, support for the most vulnerable people.
