Diary from Northern Argentina: seeds of peace sprouting

The story of the first, intense day of the Young Ambassadors of Peace among Wichi youth and women during the milONGa mission.

This is the story of a long, intense, yet profoundly beautiful and meaningful day: the first of the milonga mission. Together with the Young Ambassadors of Peace , the journey has officially begun in northern Argentina, and our hearts are already filled with faces and stories.

Meeting the Wichi women: a bond of fraternity

In the morning we had a very special meeting with the women of the Wichí community. Together we held a workshopA group of indigenous Wichí women sit around large wooden tables in a bright classroom, participating in a creative workshop. of creating and decorating handmade notebooks but, above all, we shared stories, glances, experiences and moments of authentic brotherhood.

The Wichí community is one of the most important indigenous peoples in the region. It preserves a thousand-year history, its own language, and a cultural identity that, with great commitment and hope, continues to live on and be passed down from generation to generation.

For us, it was a precious opportunity to get closer to their reality, learn about a culture rich in wisdom, and strengthen bonds through mutual respect and listening.

Afternoon in Schools: Positive Leadership and Future Ambassadors of Peace

Three Young Ambassadors for Peace participate in a positive leadership workshop at a school in Argentina, working together while sitting on the floor to assemble a newspaper structure with duct tape.In the afternoon, the joy continued at the local secondary school, where we presented the Living Peace project to a group of young people, holding a workshop on positive leadership.

The reception was extraordinary: the children participated with enthusiasm, openness, and a desire to get involved; furthermore, when presenting the proposal of the School of Young Ambassadors of Peace , many expressed a deep desire to be part of this journey.

Today we felt we had sown a small seed of peace that, with care and commitment, can grow and bear abundant fruit in this community.

Small gestures that change the world

It was a day marked by encounters that leave a lasting impression: hands that create, hearts that open, and people who discover that peace comes from the small gestures of every day.

We felt deeply welcomed, accompanied by Providence, and filled with gratitude for all this community has given us. The experience continues… and with it, the hope of building, together, a culture of peace continues to grow.
