Diary from Argentina: “We return profoundly transformed”

The third and final installment of the Young Ambassadors of Peace from Rosario. At the conclusion of the milONGa and Living Peace mission, the conclusion is a promise for the future: "We have received infinitely more than we have given"

Last day of the Peace volunteer trip to Argentina

We are beginning our journey home. This experience is coming to an end, but we feel that, in reality, it is only the beginning of something new within us. We return home profoundly transformed by the culture, simplicity, and humanity of the people of Dragones. Our hearts are filled with the profound joy that comes when we freely give of our time, our life, and our love to others.

We thought we came to give, but today we can say with certainty that we have received infinitely more than we have offered.

In the foreground, a young volunteer wearing glasses and a burgundy sweatshirt warmly embraces a little girl with long dark hair in a schoolyard. In the background, an outdoor concrete square with lines drawn on the ground is visible, where other children and an adult play and move freely during the Living Peace mission's activities in Argentina. We leave in love with Dragones, its people, its children, its young people, and every person we meet along the way. We carry with us their faces, their smiles, their strength, and their ability to persevere even in the face of adversity.

They taught us a different way of living, of looking at life and of building peace.

The most surprising thing is that we don’t return tired. On the contrary, we return with renewed spirits, full of hope, gratitude, and a deep desire to return one day.

An appeal to the network of Young Ambassadors of Peace

To all the Young Ambassadors of Peace in the network, we want to say: have the courage to live an experience like this. There are encounters that transform your life forever, and this was one of them.

We sincerely thank milonga and Living Peace International for giving us the opportunity to volunteer. Everything we’ve received during these days will remain with us forever and will continue to inspire our commitment to building a more fraternal and peaceful world.

With deep gratitude, Rocío, Lucía, Guille, Ignacio and Marcelo
