In Mexico, Covid19 infections continue to grow and the number of victims has exceeded 30 thousand . The health emergency brings with it all the hardships related to the disease and restrictions: many are out of work, the level of poverty is increasing and it has become difficult to find even just food and basic necessities. For this reason, while waiting for the ” LiberaSé – Refuge of Hope ” project to be reactivated, which will deal with the social reintegration of people recovering from drug and alcohol addiction , the AMU has decided to support 3 shelters where some of the future guests of the shelter are completing the detoxification and physical rehabilitation process. Until now, these homes have been able to offer their services by counting on solidarity and donations, now that the situation is difficult and donations have decreased, they risk no longer having what is necessary for the 130 guests in therapy . Supporting detox facilities at this time means accompanying guests in their choice to change and find a new life , even in a global emergency situation.
