The Association Action for a United World – Onlus (AMU) is looking for 2 volunteers for the Universal Civil Service project ” Building communities in solidarity with migrants “. The project, part of a broader program of social and work inclusion of people in vulnerable conditions, aims to strengthen a national reception network made up of families, companies, associations and institutions, through coordination, training and awareness. The project includes an additional measure , namely 28 hours of training and tutoring to facilitate volunteers in accessing the world of work. Implementation locations: 1 volunteer for the Grottaferrata (RM) location, location code: 143725 1 volunteer for the Cosenza (CS) location, location code: 143726 Duration : 12 months, 25 hours per week Function : After adequate training, the volunteers will assist and support the AMU operators in organizing events, thematic workshops, designing and creating educational and training materials, organizing Italian language and culture courses for the young protagonists. Tasks : The activities of the volunteer operators will be carried out in support of the following activities: A.1 Awareness-raising activities and expansion of local reception networks A.2 Thematic workshops for the network actors A.3 Training courses for companies, operators and families A.4 Family holidays A.5. Italian language school and teaching of the Italian language and culture to migrant citizens The detailed description of the tasks is available in the project text. Requirements :

  • be between 18 and 28 years old;
  • be Italian or EU citizens regularly resident in Italy or non-EU citizens regularly resident;
  • not having received any convictions;
  • not belong to the armed forces or the police force;
  • not having already performed Civil Service or having started and then interrupted it (an exemption is granted to young people who have interrupted due to the health emergency, even if they have already turned 29).

Preferred requirements:

  • sharing the values and mission of AMU;
  • real interest in issues related to global citizenship, interculturality, immigration;
  • high ability to relate to people of different cultures, ages, social statuses and political/religious beliefs;
  • communication skills for conducting public meetings, ability to lead work groups;
  • be enrolled in or have completed courses of study relating to interculturalism, development cooperation, social work.
  • Finally, adequate experience in using a personal computer and managing basic software is appreciated.

Contribution : Volunteers will receive a monthly expense contribution of 439.50 euros.
