On the night of November 26th at 3.54 am Albania was shaken by an extraordinary earthquake of magnitude 6.4. The consequences of the earthquake were devastating; 51 people lost their lives and many houses, buildings, schools, hospitals and so on were destroyed, in an already very precarious economic situation of the Albanian people. On December 30th the situation was:

  • 72 structures (buildings, hotels, houses) completely collapsed;
  • 5867 uninhabitable apartments;
  • 28 schools damaged and two health centers closed.

The event has disrupted part of the country’s economy as many companies or supplier firms have not been able to continue working. Being a completely new experience for which no one is prepared, many workers have not gone to work due to the psychological shock they have had from the earthquake. The aim of this project is to provide economic assistance (for medical care, food and accommodation), social and psychological assistance (moments of education-training and training to deal with the psychological criticalities that emerged from the earthquake and to promote positive and constructive management towards emotional, human and spiritual needs) to the people affected by the earthquake of November 26, 2019.
