After graduating in dentistry, Francis worked in a clinic as a dentist. She is a very young girl who decided to take on a great challenge : opening her own practice in the city of Baniyas, in Syria. This requires a lot of courage in today’s Syrian socio-economic context, but it also contains the seed of hope and confidence in the future. Francis’ doubts melted away when she heard about the RestarT program, which supports income-generating activities in Syria. She presented her idea and, after carrying out a feasibility study, the staff approved her project, trusted her and provided her with the essential tools to start the business: modern and efficient equipment, of which Francis is particularly proud. Since she opened her practice, the girl has been constantly followed by the RestarT office in Baniyas, until her business can “walk” on its own. In the meantime, things are going well. Many patients turn to her practice for dental care: “Thanks to the new and modern tools that RestarT provided me, I can complete a treatment in a shorter time than in other clinics in the city. This is one of the reasons why so many people turn to me. It is a great opportunity that allows me to live new experiences every day.” Francis’ enthusiasm is engaging. Now the girl has the opportunity to work with dignity in her city.
