We are now approaching the days of Christmas and New Year’s Eve , which are expected to be full of unknowns and novelties, hoped for or feared. For this reason, also the best wishes , that we have always exchanged in such circumstances, this year require even more sincerity, attention and particular delicacy. First of all, we would like to be close to those who have lost their loved ones in this time , to those who also suffer from economic difficulties or who find themselves separated from their family and loved ones, to share their suffering so that it is easier to live ; together we can illuminate them with the hope that the Christmas holiday brings us as a gift.
It is that same Hope , awaited by our communities and by all humanity to give an answer and a meaning to the uncertainties we are facing, and which requires courage, vision and perseverance:
the courage to put the Common Good before personal interests, however legitimate, but now more than ever subordinated to a higher interest;
the vision that opens up to us the unexplored horizons of a new era that is dawning and that offers us special opportunities to lead humanity to take fundamental steps on its path of progress and development;
perseverance to not give in to discouragement, to the old and new efforts that this situation imposes on us, to the misunderstandings and criticisms of those who do not see or do not want to see what is happening.
The Light of Christmas – which manifests itself in the most disarming simplicity and humility of a familyto of displaced people forced to give birth to her own child in a stable, but who with this act made the presence of God among men possible – crosses the centuries and space and comes to illuminate each of us today to give us strength and to be shared with all men of good will.
This is the meaning of our wishes, what we want to offer to all of you members, supporters, friends, collaborators and their families.
