In Lebanon, a month after the explosion that devastated the port of Beirut and surrounding neighborhoods, the population remains in an emergency situation . The stories that come from our local contacts tell us of many people still struggling with the arrangement and reconstruction of homes, offices, shops, and workplaces. Wounds of places that add up and deepen the wounds of bodies and souls . Hassan and his family, for example, have suffered injuries of varying degrees, their home was destroyed as was the shop that allowed them to live. For now they are being hosted near Beirut, but in these conditions even the travel expenses to return to the city and try to repair the shop are insurmountable. Resuming everyday life as soon as possible will be difficult . Also because, in addition to the material losses, parents and children must find a way to overcome the strong trauma , fear and sense of anguish that have been in their lives for over a month. Our commitment continues alongside Humanité Nouvelle, a local partner, to support the aid and support interventions for families to overcome this emergency and start hoping for the future again .
