Il progetto triennale Chance For Tomorrow nasce per dare continuità e consolidare le attività educative e formative portate avanti da circa 8 anni dalla Fondazione Koz Kazah nella comunità di Shubra, uno dei quartieri più popolosi del Cairo.
La fondazione è impegnata nel lavoro con gli ultimi nelle zone più periferiche della capitale egiziana. Tra i principali obiettivi delle loro attività c’è il contrastare l’evasione scolastica dei ragazzi, promuovere la partecipazione femminile al dibattito pubblico e incoraggiare le ragazze e le donne ad accedere a percorsi educativi e professionali, sviluppando le loro capacità personali (vedi ad esempio le schede progetto “Ragazzi a rischio” e “Donna educatrice di Pace“).

Le dimensioni assunte dall’impegno crescente di Koz Kazah e la risposta positiva che i programmi precedenti hanno trovato nella popolazione locale, rendono oggi necessario un rafforzamento di capacità dell’organizzazione, al fine di migliorare l’efficacia e la qualità dei servizi offerti alla popolazione e renderli stabili e continuativi nel tempo.
Per questo, all’iniziale gruppo di volontari si sono aggiunte progressivamente alcune figure professionali e di coordinamento.
Per le attività di artigianato già avviate con il gruppo delle donne (lavorazione del vimini, cucina, catering e stampa ecologica), il nuovo progetto incoraggerà l’inserimento nel mondo del lavoro di alcune di loro attraverso stage svolti in aziende del territorio.

Per garantire la sostenibilità e la qualità del progetto si rafforzeranno anche le competenze e le capacità di chi da anni, anche a titolo volontario, ha scelto con entusiasmo e dedizione di dedicarsi al lavoro nella Fondazione.

Crediamo che tutta la ricchezza di esperienze maturata da Koz Kazah coi ragazzi di Shubra, nata dalla condivisione e dal dialogo tra generazioni e religioni, possa ispirare altre comunità di giovani e adulti a crescere e lavorare assieme.
A questo proposito, abbiamo pensato di fare insieme a Koz Kazah qui in Italia dei laboratori di Educazione allo Sviluppo, per incontrare nei prossimi tre anni alcuni istituti scolastici del territorio di Roma e Provincia.
Sarà un’occasione per condividere momenti di intercultura e co-sviluppo, scambiando esperienze e  sensibilità reciproche, un piccolo ponte di fraternità sul Mediterraneo.

Attività previste

• Incontri di formazione settimanali per favorire l’inclusione sociale e le relazioni familiari di donne, ragazzi e ragazze
• Organizzazione di attività ludiche e ricreative, gite e campi scuola formativi
• Creazione di gruppi di auto mutuo aiuto e di un servizio di assistenza psicologica
• Realizzazione di corsi di formazione sulle tecniche di stampa ecologica, di taglio e cucito, di cucina e catering e lavorazione artigianale del vimini
• Orientamento e accompagnamento all’inserimento lavorativo delle donne
• Percorsi formativi e di rafforzamento delle competenze per il personale di Koz Kazah
• Realizzazione di 18 laboratori di educazione allo sviluppo in istituti scolastici in Italia, in collaborazione con Koz Kazah

The three-year project Chance For Tomorrow was born to provide continuity and consolidate the educational and training activities carried out for about 8 years by the Foundation Koz Kazah in the community of Shubra, one of the most densely populated neighbourhoods of Cairo. The Foundation is committed to work with the poor and excluded in the remotest areas of the Egyptian capital. Among the main aims of their activities there is the fight of school truancy, promote women’s participation in public debate and encourage girls and women to access to educational and professional paths, developing their personal skills.

The size of the increasing commitment undertaken by Koz Kazah and the positive response that the previous programs found in the local population, now make it necessary to strengthen the capacity of the organization in order to improve the effectiveness and quality of the services offered to the population and make them permanent and continuous. It is for this reason that some professionals and coordination were gradually added to the initial group of volunteers. The new project will encourage the integration into the workplace of some of the handicraft activities already underway with the group of women (basket weaving, kitchen, catering and green printing), through internships conducted in local companies.

To ensure the sustainability and quality of the project, the skills and capabilities of those who, for many years, even on a voluntary basis, have chosen with enthusiasm and dedication to devote to the work in the Foundation, will also be strengthened.

We believe that all the wealth of experience gained from Koz Kazah with the children of Shubra, born from the sharing and the dialogue between generations and religions, will inspire other communities of young people and adults to grow and work together. In this respect, we decided to do, here in Italy with Koz Kazah, workshops of Development Education, to meet in the next three years some schools in the territory of Rome and Province.
It will be a chance to share moments of interculturalism and co-development, sharing mutual experiences and feelings, a small bridge of brotherhood on the Mediterranean.

Summary of the main activities

• Weekly training sessions to promote social inclusion and family relationships of women, boys and girls
• Organization of leisure and recreational activities, trips and training youth camps
• Creation of self-help groups and counselling services
• Training implementation on techniques of green printing, sewing, cooking, catering and craftsmanship of basket weaving
• Guidance and support to the job placement of women
• Training courses and capacity development to staff of KozKazah
• Realisation of 18 development education workshops in schools in Italy, in collaboration with KozKazah

The total cost for the 3-year project is € 581,939.96, of which € 112,608.14 contributed by the local counterpart and € 272,917.00 contributed by the CEI. The contribution requested from AMU is therefore € 196,414.81 (as at 12/16/2015).[:de]

Das dreijährige Projekt CHANCE FÜR MORGEN wird ins Leben gerufen, um der Erziehungs-und Ausbildungstätigkeit Kontinuität und Beständigkeit zu gewährleisten, die seit ungefähr

8 Jahren von der Stiftung Koz Kazah in der Gemeinschaft von Shubra, eines der dicht besiedelsten Viertel Kairos geführt wird.

Die Stiftung setzt sich für die Letzten in den entlegensten Teilen der ägyptischen Hauptstadt ein. Die wichtigsten Ziele ihrer Tätigkeit sind u.a. das Bestreben um einen regelmäßigeren Schulbesuch der Jungen, das Mitspracherecht der Mädchen und Frauen in der Öffentlichkeit zu fördern, die Mädchen und Frauen zu ermutigen, erzieherische und berufliche Laufbahnen anzustreben, wobei sie ihre persönlichen Fähigkeiten weiterentwickeln (siehe z.B. Projekt „Risiko-Jungs“ und „Frau, Erzieherin zum Frieden“)

Das erreichte Ausmaß im ständig wachsenden Einsatz von Koz Kazah und die positive Rückantwort der lokalen Bevölkerung auf die Programme erfordern eine Verstärkung der Organisation, um die Effizienz der geleisteten Dienste zugunsten der Bevölkerung zu verbessern und damit Stabilität und Kontinuität zu gewährleisten.

Aus diesem Grund wurde die anfängliche Gruppe von Freiwilligen nach und nach mit einigen professionellen und für Koordinierung sorgenden Fachleuten erweitert.

Für die handwerklichen Tätigkeiten, die mit der Gruppe der Frauen bereits begonnen wurden (Korbflechten, Küche, Catering und ökologischer Druck) wird das neue Projekt die Eingliederung einiger dieser Frauen ins Berufsleben durch Praktika in lokalen Betrieben fördern.

Um die Beständigkeit und Qualität des Projekts zu garantieren werden auch die Kompetenzen und Fähigkeiten der Frauen bestärkt, die sich schon seit Jahren mit Begeisterung und Hingabe, zunächst auf freiwilliger Basis, für die Arbeit in der Stiftung entschieden haben.

Wir glauben, dass der ganze Reichtum an Erfahrung, der von Koz Kazah mit den Jungs von Shubra herangereift ist – erwachsen aus dem Dialog zwischen Generationen und Religionen – andere Gemeinschaften von Jugendlichen und Erwachsenen dazu anleiten kann, gemeinsam zu wachsen und zusammen zu arbeiten.

Zu diesem Zweck haben wir beschlossen, hier in Italien, gemeinsam mit Koz Kazah, Werkstätten für die Erziehung zur Entwicklung zu verwirklichen, um in den nächsten drei Jahren einigen Schulen in Rom und der Provinz diese Aktivitäten bekannt zu machen.

Es wird eine Gelegenheit sein, um gemeinsam Momente der Interkultur und der Entwicklung zu teilen, wobei Erfahrungen und gegenseitige Sensibilitäten ausgetauscht werden: eine kleine Brücke der Geschwisterlichkeit am Mittelmeer.

Vorgesehene Tätigkeiten

Wöchentliche Fortbildungstreffen, um die soziale Eingliederung und die familiären Beziehungen von Frauen, Jungen und Mädchen zu fördern

Organisation von spielerischen und unterhaltenden Tätigkeiten, Ausflügen und bildenden Schulcamps

Bildung von Selbsthilfegruppen und psychologischem Dienst

Realisierung von Fortbildungskursen für ökologische Drucktechnik, von Schnitt-und Nähkursen, Kochkursen und Catering sowie handwerkliche Verarbeitung von Peddigrohr

Orientierung und Begleitung bei der Eingliederung in die Arbeitswelt für Frauen

Bildungswege und Festigung der Kompetenzen für das Personal von Koz Kazah

Verwirklichung von 18 Werkstätten über Erziehung zur Entwicklung in Schulen Italiens in Zusammenarbeit mit Koz Kazah
