AUGURI PER UNA PACE VERA

Once more grim war clouds are gathering on the only earth we have. The senseless nuclear threat is coming back to frighten us. Not to mention the explosions in the churches during mass on Palm Sunday. Or the countless other attacks that every day kill innocent people of any religion, population or age. There are countless cries of pain and despair that rise from the world, almost lost in the immensity of the universe. What is the meaning of so much suffering?

And then there is the commitment of so many who would like to change the world, stop the cruelty and hatred, renew our planet and make it inhabitable and comfortable for everyone, even for those who will come after us, but whose efforts are rejected, just like the waves against the deafness opposed from sinful structures that affect our lives. How not to get discouraged in front of so much insensitivity and lack of humanity?

The Easter celebrations remind us of a God made man, who despite his innocence, accepts upon himself all the pain of mankind for the love of every being, and to redeem each of us to bring us back into the light and the fullness of the relationship with God, who created us out of love.

Our greeting from AMU to our supporters, friends and associates is that the joy of the resurrection of Christ brings peace in our hearts, in our families and communities, and above all gives us renewed strength and courage to generate peace and bring it everywhere, in the assurance that the best is still to come and that the future is better than any past.

Fosche nubi di guerra si stanno nuovamente addensando sull’unica terra che abbiamo, addirittura si torna a paventare l’insensata minaccia atomica, per non dire delle chiese fatte esplodere durante la funzione della Domenica delle Palme, o degli innumerevoli altri attentati dove quotidianamente perdono la vita persone innocenti di qualsiasi religione, popolo, età. Sono infinite le grida di dolore e disperazione che si levano dal mondo, quasi a perdersi nell’immensità dell’universo. Quale il senso di tanta sofferenza?

E poi c’è l’impegno di tanti che vorrebbero cambiare il mondo, fermare la ferocia e l’odio, rinnovare il nostro pianeta e renderlo abitabile ed accogliente per tutti, anche per coloro che verranno dopo di noi, ma che vedono i loro sforzi respinti, come le onde del mare contro la sordità opposta dalle strutture di peccato che condizionano le nostre vite. Come non scoraggiarsi davanti a tanta insensibilità e mancanza di umanità?

Le feste di Pasqua ci ricordano di un Dio fatto uomo, che pur nella sua innocenza, per amore ad ogni uomo accetta di caricare su di sé tutti i dolori dell’umanità, ed a redimere ognuno di noi per riportarci nella luce e nella pienezza del rapporto con Dio padre, che ci ha creato per amore.

L’augurio di tutti noi dell’AMU per i nostri sostenitori, amici e soci è che la gioia della risurrezione di Cristo porti la pace nei nostri cuori, nelle nostre famiglie e comunità, e soprattutto ci dia una forza ed un coraggio rinnovati per generare la pace e portarla ovunque, con la certezza che il meglio non potrà che accadere e l’avvenire è migliore di qualunque passato.
